Asali Yoga is a yoga studio in the heart of Harlem, New York City. In Sanskrit, Yoga means union. The studio offers various forms of union and connection to the community, including healing, visual art, gardening, acupuncture, nada yoga and Asali Flow which is taught by a gifted variety of teachers. The Asali Flow classes focus on flowing with the integration of breath and movement, creative sequencing, and proper alignment of the asanas, as well as pranayama techniques. Classes are fun and dynamic, sharpen the mind, and is often accompanied by music.

Asali means sweet honey in Swahili, suggesting the sweetness that yoga and wellness can bring to one’s life. The intent of Asali Yoga is to promote goodness, beauty and a high quality of life all over the globe, beginning with the offering of yoga classes, art exhibits, and a variety of life affirming workshops in the Harlem community. This will encourage flexibility, strength, love of one’s self and others, self awareness, and integration of body, mind and spirit.

Asali Yoga is located on a lovely tree lined street at 243 west 135th street, Garden Floor, between Frederick Douglass and Adam Clayton Powell. It is one block away from the St. Nicholas Park meadow. It is one block east of the 135th stop for both the B/C subway and 2 avenues west of the 2/3 subway lines. The Bx33 bus also runs from the Bronx and stops right on the corner of the studio. It is close to City College, Harlem Hospital, and the Schomburg Center.

The class schedule which is updated on our website is continuously growing, as well as the presence of delightful teachers. In addition to walk in single yoga classes, Asali offers 5, 10, 20 & 50 class cards, which expire in 6 months, as well as monthly and yearly, unlimited cards. There is also a “New Student Special” of 3 classes for $30, for students visiting Asali for the first time.
